Yes, you’ll need an active NDIS plan before you apply. If you’re not sure whether your funding covers supported employment, we can guide you or your Support Coordinator through the options. Read more about Finding and Keeping a Job funding.

After we meet and get to know your goals and strengths, we’ll match you to the most suitable employment pathway — whether it’s Cleaning, Outdoor Maintenance, or Promotions.

Before starting trial shifts, you’ll need to provide:

• A current Working with Vulnerable People Registration
   
• A recent Police Check (issued within the last 12 months)
   
• A Functional Assessment Report from your Occupational Therapist
   
• A Restricted Practices Plan (if applicable)
   
• A Curriculum Vitae (CV) outlining your certificates, schooling level, and any past work experience
   

If you need help gathering any of these documents, we're happy to guide and support you.

Once these documents are provided and reviewed, we’ll arrange trial shifts so you can experience real work, with full support tailored to your needs, to make sure you can successfully work as a team before sending you on commercial jobs.  

Absolutely. We encourage Support Coordinators, carers, and families to be part of the Ability Pathways journey, as we build the best employment plan for you. 

It depends on your readiness and needs. Some participants move quickly from trial shifts to employment within a few weeks, while others take a little more time. Rest assured we move at a pace that feels right for you and your skillset. 

You'll work alongside experienced mentors who provide on-the-job coaching, guidance, and encouragement. We tailor support ratios based on your goals and NDIS funding, so you feel safe and supported every step of the way.
