For many NDIS participants, “Finding and Keeping a Job” (FAKAJ) and "School Leaver Employment Supports" are NDIS funding lines that never gets used or goes nowhere.
At Ability Pathways, we make sure you use it for real employment.
This funding isn’t about ticking boxes or pushing paper — it’s about changing lives through real work. It’s about backing people with disability to get real jobs — with real pay, real support, and real outcomes.
The NDIS funds employment support under the “Finding and Keeping a Job” category, which sits within Capacity Building – Employment. This funding is designed to help participants gain and maintain meaningful work, with the flexibility to support individual goals, on-the-job training, and tailored supervision. According to the NDIS guidelines, it's intended to lead to real employment outcomes — not just readiness.
We don’t offer mock workplaces or endless training programs. Too many participants spend years in pre-employment programs, building skills without ever crossing the line into paid work. The system prepares them endlessly, but rarely rewards them. We offer employment. Structured, supported, and paid at the correct Award Wage. Through our Decluttering, Cleaning and Promotions Pathways, participants work as part of a team, learn practical skills, and build the kind of confidence that can’t be taught in a classroom — only earned through real work, real responsibility, and being part of something that matters.
Depending on the person’s needs and funding, we can tailor support for the best outcome, while they’re on the job. The work is real. The goals are personal. And the progress is visible.
Families and coordinators trust us because we don’t dress it up. We keep it simple. We meet people where they’re at, and help them move forward to achieving their NDIS goals.
If you have this funding in your plan — or think you should — get in touch. We’ll help you make it count.
Because finding a job is just the start. Keeping it is where the future begins.
